PRIVACY POLICY AND CHILDREN’S PRIVACY NOTICE (COPPA)
BellaSantini.com
Effective date:04/10/2026
Last updated: 04/10/2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit BellaSantini.com (the “Site”).
IMPORTANT: This Site is a story world created for tweens and the adults who love them. Because some visitors may be under 13, we provide this Policy in plain language and include a Children’s Privacy Notice designed to align with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA).
1) WHO WE ARE (OPERATOR CONTACT)
This Site is operated by:
Angela Legh
Email: angela@angelalegh.com
Mailing address: 1335 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur #268 Taos, NM 87571
2) OUR DEFAULT PRIVACY CHOICE FOR KIDS
Our default approach is: “No personal data from children.”
That means:
-
- No accounts for kids
-
- No public comments or chats
-
- No requests for a child’s name, email address, phone number, or mailing address
-
- No targeted advertising
-
- No selling of kids’ information
If we ever add a feature that would collect a child’s personal information, we will first update this Policy and implement verifiable parental consent (COPPA) before collecting that information.
3) INFORMATION WE COLLECT
A. Information we do NOT intend to collect from children
We do not ask children to submit:
-
- full names
-
- email addresses
-
- phone numbers
-
- home addresses
-
- photos, videos, or voice recordings
-
- precise geolocation
B. Limited information collected automatically (for site operation and security)
Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical data such as:
-
- IP address
-
- device and browser information
-
- basic usage logs (pages viewed, time, referring page)
-
- security and anti-abuse signals
We use this limited data only to support the internal operations of the Site (for example, maintaining site function, preventing abuse, and understanding high-level traffic). We do not use it for behavioral advertising or to build profiles of children.
C. Information a parent or adult may provide
If we offer a parent-only contact method (for example, for teachers, caregivers, or media inquiries), we may collect:
-
- name and email address
-
- message contents
This contact method is intended for adults, not children.
- message contents
4) COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
We may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies required for:
-
- site functionality and security
-
- preventing fraud or abuse
-
- remembering basic preferences (where needed)
We do not use cookies for targeted advertising to children.
If we use analytics, we aim to choose settings and tools that reduce data collection and avoid cross-site tracking. If we ever enable optional cookies beyond what is strictly necessary, we will provide appropriate choices and notices.
5) THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND EMBEDS
The Site may link to third-party websites (for example, where books are sold). Third-party sites have their own privacy practices, and we do not control them.
If we embed third-party content (for example, videos), those providers may collect data or set cookies as if you visited their site directly. We seek to minimize embeds on kid-facing pages.
6) HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use limited technical data to:
-
- operate and secure the Site
-
- maintain and improve performance
-
- understand high-level usage patterns (for example, which pages are most visited)
If an adult contacts us, we use that information to respond and communicate.
7) HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We may share limited information with service providers that help us run the Site (hosting, security, basic analytics), only as needed for their services.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety and security.
We do not sell children’s personal information.
8) DATA RETENTION
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary.
Typical retention:
-
- Security/server logs: typically 30–90 days, unless needed to investigate abuse or incidents
-
- Adult contact emails: up to 24 months after last interaction, unless a longer period is required by law
If we become aware that we collected personal information from a child in a way not intended by this Policy, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
9) CHILDREN’S PRIVACY NOTICE (COPPA)
A. What COPPA is and who it applies to
COPPA is a US privacy rule designed to protect children under 13 online. If a service is directed to children under 13, or an operator has actual knowledge it collects personal information from a child under 13, COPPA requires specific notices, parental rights, and (in many cases) verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information.
B. What we collect from children
Our intent is not to collect children’s personal information such as names or email addresses.
We may collect limited persistent identifiers (like IP address and device/browser signals) only for support of internal operations, such as security, maintaining site function, and basic traffic measurement.
C. Parental rights: review, delete, and stop further collection
A parent may contact us to:
-
- ask whether we have collected personal information from their child
-
- request deletion of any child personal information we may have collected
-
- request that we stop further collection or use of a child’s personal information
To make a request, email:
[angela@angelalegh.com]
Subject line: “COPPA Request – BellaSantini.com”
We may request information needed to verify that you are the child’s parent/guardian and to locate the relevant information.
D. If we add child data features in the future: direct notice and verifiable parental consent
If we ever add a feature that collects personal information from a child (for example, an email newsletter signup, contest entry, account, or community feature), we will:
-
- provide direct notice to the parent describing what we collect, how we use it, whether we share it, and our retention practices
-
- obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing the child’s personal information
-
- provide parents an ongoing method to review and delete the child’s information and to revoke consent
E. Verifiable parental consent options (if needed)
If verifiable parental consent is required, we will use one or more consent methods designed to confirm the consenting person is the child’s parent or guardian (for example, signed consent forms, payment-based verification, live video/phone verification, or approved identity verification methods), as permitted by applicable law.
F. Neutral age screen (if we ever need one)
If we ever add a feature that requires collecting age, we will do so in a neutral way that does not encourage children to misstate their age. If a visitor indicates they are under 13, we will not collect personal information from them unless we first obtain verifiable parental consent.
10) SECURITY
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. However, no system is perfectly secure.
11) CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Site after updates means you accept the updated Policy.
